Welcome new members! Now that you are here . . .
Whew, what a week! We made our official debut to the world at the Presentation Summit. We grew nearly half again in membership size. Our newsletter subscribers are in the many hundreds. Now the fun really begins.
First things first: please create your profile. We encourage you to use your real name and a real picture, since your peers (and customers and clients and bosses and subordinates) might be following what you share in the forums, etc. If you’re social media savvy, you’ll know to keep a consistent and familiar persona across the various channels. Except for those special places you don’t want to. Wink.
Also: follow, friend, or subscribe to our various social media channels. The Presentation Guild encourages support and sharing among members wherever you choose. We’re on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, and others as we see fit. Although we don’t have an official hashtag, include “@PresentGuild” in your tweets if you want Guild folks to see them. Likewise, tag “The Presentation Guild” in Facebook posts related to presentation design and support that you want others to see.
Friend and follow each other, too. The industry’s best are among us. There’s no reason for anything to stand between you and them. Did you make new friends in Las Vegas last week during the Presentation Summit? Let them know about the Presentation Guild.
Add us to your email contacts. Depending on your method, simply including our domain ‘www.presentationguild.com’ to your safe senders list or whitelist should do the trick. If you already opted in to our newsletter when you joined, you don’t need to do a thing. The newsletter also goes to non-members who have requested a subscription, but may include links to pages of our website which are for members only.
Speaking of our website, go check it out. You’ll need to be logged in as a member to take full advantage. This will be most apparent, for example, in our educational offerings — our learning management system tracks your individual progress through courses. Keep an eye on our Events page, too. One click helps you put our calendar items into your calendar.
Last but not least, please let us know what you want. We’re a membership-driven organization. We want your ideas, your feedback, your praise and condemnation. Or three of those four. Okay, all four.
So, there’s your to-do list. Let’s get started.
We’re very excited to learn from you! If you work in any aspect of the presentation industry, have a pro tip or trick, lesson learned, or favorite resource to share, and would like to contribute to the Presentation Guild blog, please consider submitting an article for consideration on our blog post submission page.
